Last weeks TAG challenge over at KardKrazy.blogspot.com was no paper. Louise wanted us to create a tag without using ANY paper ANYWHERE! That means you have to create your tag out of something other than paper.
I used corrugated cardboard as the tag. I painted it with Tim Holtz crackle paint (peeled paint). I used copper dabber paint on the edges.
I stamped a butterfly on acetate, embossed it and then alcohol inked it. I cut it out and pop dotted it onto the tag. Stamped a sentiment and added stickles.
Unfortunately, the pictures do not do it justice. It really came out cute.
I want to thank everyone who has been soooooo sweet to me during this very difficult time in my life. Your cards, your e-mail, your thoughts and prayers have all been truly appreciated.
My dad has been battling cancer for some time now, but unfortunately the cancer has now taken the lead. Dad has been a real fighter throughout this whole terrible experience. Today my dad finally gave in to having HOSPICE come in.
I want to thank everyone for all your kind words and prayers. They have really meant alot to me.
I am sooooo grateful that I found scrapping (and my favorite mini albums) just a few months ago. It has been my therapy.
It is September 3rd and I am putting my final touches on my GGS August Swap. I have e-mailed Stephanie B. to let her know that (due to the holiday) I will be putting it in the mail to her on Tuesday.
I don't know what the next month is going to bring.......so, I have let Marion at GGS, Bona and Arlene at DSC and Kathryn at Life on the Scrapbeach that I will not be swapping for the month of September. I hope to be back in full swing in October.
I will post pictures of my mini for Stephanie as soon as I mail it. Thanks again everyone. I love all of you. ~Brenda
For those of you who do not know, my best friends, my mother and my father are BOTH going through some serious health issues. It is both emotionally and physically exhausting. I try to stay very positive. I do affirmations everyday and I keep a gratitude journal. Both have helped a great deal. This morning on Youtube there was a quick 4 minute relaxing up beat video. I strongly suggest everyone take a 4 minute breather and watch this video. ~Brenda
I need 5 more hours to every day and 2 more days of the week (with the rest of the world standing still in time). Here is a slide show of my July GGS trade album that I made for Melanie. Hope she likes it.
Just finished my trade album for the Girls Gone Scrappy Club for the month of July. The album is going to Melanie. Members of the GGS will remember, Melanie has been in the hospital. I contacted Marion to try to get an update on her condition, but she didn't know either. I will include a note with the album and ask her to give us an update on her health. If she responds, I will forward the info.
I am attempting to publish my first slide show. My June GGS swap album. The album ends up being 18 pages (including the inserts). I now realize that my album is out of compliance. I will do better next time. After starting the project, I realized that it was bigger than it was suppose to be, but I did not want to start over (again).
I sent this album to Kim today, but I would like to dedicate this album to Kathryn. It is a paperbag album similar to the one that she made a video of. I have been watching and corresponding with Kathryn since way back when, well before she even started her blog. Kathryn has been a WONDERFUL inspiration for me. She makes everything look soooooo easy, that I wasn't afraid to try different things.
Now that I am a member of Girls Gone Scappy, I am inspired everyday. These girls are ALL so talented. (Check them all out - look at my blog roll) You won't be disappointed.
Ok, wish me luck with the slide show... if all goes well, I will post more of my projects.
I am the mother of 2 beautiful furry girls, Daisy and Katie. Daisy is a 11 1/2 year old BischonPoo.(half bicon and half poodle)and Katie is an 9 1/2 year old German Shepard. They are my babies.
I have the most AWESOME parents.
I just started scrapping about 6 months ago and I love it. It's my therapy. I just wish there were more hours in the day.
My true passion is mini albums.
